The Story

How it started.
If ever there was a category for hairstylist-meets-rockstar, my wife Bam would top the list. One day I was buried in work when I looked up and saw her racing out the door to get to the salon. Bam can turn anything into an outfit — but this day she was in a full boiler suit, doo-rag, accessories all working in a way that never made me think twice she was wearing a boiler suit.
Tongue-in-cheek I said, "I wish I had a job where I could wear a boiler suit to work." She replied, "Well, come work at Foil." I thought for a second and said, "Why don't we just bring Foil's Style to everyone instead?"
Collective
Independence.
Two words that shouldn't fit together — and that's the point. Independence is doing it your way, on your terms, answering to no one. The collective is everyone else doing the same, right beside you.
Foil Style is for people who are independent together — stylists, makers, operators, originals. You shouldn't have to choose between standing out and belonging. Wear both.
Built by Matt & Sean.
For two decades I helped build someone else's company. Foil Style is the first one that's ours.
It didn't start in a boardroom. It started in our kitchen — watching my wife turn a boiler suit into a statement on her way out the door, and realizing the idea wouldn't leave me alone: you can do it entirely your own way and still belong to something bigger. That's not a contradiction. It's the whole brand.
Sean and I have spent our careers in the background, backing independents. Foil Style is us stepping out — and building a room for everyone who already knows who they are.
